The Vinylmation is being sold for $399.99 which is well over the asking price of the eachez themselves. As you can see, the massive price increase is due to the small LE of the variant.

Disney Dollar Deals- Week three thumbnail

The seller is selling the set for a grand total of $45. “*earthy*” has 100% positive feedback and ships from the USA, so a very slim chance of getting any problems. This is a great way to get the second set if you missed out on it the first time around.

It is being sold for $49.99. This is a great way to get hold of the new set, if you couldn’t make the event to purchase it. The seller has 99.2% positive feedback and ships from the USA, so again, very slim chance of any problems.

Most Expensive Vinylmation Of The Week:

Here is this weeks most expensive Vinylmation of the week. Every week, we scavenge the internet for the pricey Vinylmations around.

Pixar Series 2 – Mrs Incredible:

This has recently sold on ebay this week for an unbelievable, confusing price. The ebay seller “homelessjedi” recently listed the Mrs Incredible 3” vinyl, from Pixar series two. There are two versions of the figure. One of Mrs Incrediable in her “modern” suit. Also there’s a Variant!, Elasticgirl in her “Classic” suit. I would just like to note, on the listing it mentions its the non-Variant, all will become clear in a minute.

Image credit to ebay seller "homelessjedi"

Mrs Incredible sold for a total of $850!!! You can see now why I’m slightly confused. Its the regular, non-variant version of Mrs Incredible from the series! (I think that the buyer must of got mixed up with the Vinyls!) This seller I would have no worries about, they ship from the USA and has 99.9% positive feedback.

Community Corner:

Firstly we have an unbelievable, kind gesture from a anonymous trader. A trader on Vinylmation Trading UK received a mystery package at their door, when they got home. Not expecting a package, they opened it up with curiosity and everyone one the trading group could not believe their eyes!

They had received an one of twelve, exclusive, custom vinylmation by Noah for Epcot’s 30th birthday! The trader had been sent the Vinyl from a very kind trader over a loss of a purchase. The person to send the exclusive Vinylmation must have a massive kind heart to send this!

With the successful release of the Robots series #4, the whole of the trading group as been taken over with ROBOTS! Here I a few people have had to offer to trade!

This member had gotten Captain Hook, Sydrome, Two Scars and The Big Bad Wolf in their blind boxes!

trade game

Over the last couple months there had been rumors of a new way of in park trading beginning. It looks like that new form of swapping vinyls is starting to be seen. A few days back the first photo surfaced from Kiyoshi Kuramoto which shows a cast member in Disneyland at Star Traders using the new “Trade Belt.”

There has not been too many sitings of this new belt just yet.  It is possible Disney is in some sort of testing phase to see the reaction of their guests. Personally, I really hope this works out as it is a great new way to do some Vinylmation trading. In a time where many feel the collector’s or interest so to speak is dying off due to lack of carrying new vinyls in local Disney store’s and long time collector’s selling off their collections; something like this can really reignite the trade.

It’s one thing to sell blind boxes and see the trade boxes at various areas in the parks or head to D-Street and see all Vinylmation has to offer. Imagine though walking through the park and not knowing anything about Vinylmation and seeing a cast member walking around with little bag with three random vinyls and wanting to know more. Something like this can really catch new collector’s and bring many more into the fold.

Trading at the parks seems to have gotten stale for awhile between the crazy rules of trading at Disneyland D-Street, and not being able to interact with fellow traders in the shop to bad trade boxes filled with High-School vinyls. Something new and exciting like this could be great for the community. Can’t wait to see how this works out. What are your thoughts on this possible new way of trading in parks? Do you like it, hate it, or have your own theory on it? Let us know in the comments section below!

vinylmation belt

While the Disney theme parks have seen a reduction of trade boxes, there have been rumours of some cast members having a “Trading Belt” but as of yet, I had never seen any evidence of this, until today, when Vinylmation Kingdom reporter Kiyoshi Kuramoto sent in the following photograph of a Cast Member in Disneyland at Star Traders using the trading belt.

vinylmation beltMuch like with Pin Trading, these belts allow for some interaction with Cast Members to trade Vinylmation and is a positive step forward to give collectors more opportunity to trade within the parks and this would work in a similar fashion to the open trade boxes.

What do you think of the trade belt?

DLR - ToonTown Five and Dime Trade Box

pixar 2 trayIt was just a year ago that we first started to hear about the reduction of trade boxes at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, which resulted in a change to the way collectors could trade.  It appears that a change has taken place at the Frontierland Trading Post in the Magic Kingdom.  Reports have come in from a few different collectors who have visited the store this week that they have added a new clear trade box specifically for the Pixar blind box series (both Series 1 and 2).

Reports have been that the Cast Members have been pretty strict on what is allowed in this box as they have photos of what figures are allowed in this Pixar box and also will not except a figure that is already in the box.   The Frontierland Trading Post already has a Park Starz trading box which follows a similar stricter criteria to trade with.

This marks another shift in how Disney operate their trading locations to offer a much more positive trading experience and this could easily be just a trial run to see how it works or if it will slowly creep out to other trading locations.   And could this trial be spread out to cover other series such as Star Wars, Park, Animation etc?

There is no doubt that this would be a change from what we have experienced in the past but it could improve trading at the parks.

And if that wasn’t all, there have been rumours of selected Cast Members trialling a Vinylmation Trading belt which contains a few Vinylmations that are available for trade, much like how some Cast Members current trade Pins.  This again is just a rumour and is reportedly just in a trial stage.

What do you think of this move?

mystery

Online trading is one of the hottest commodities with Vinylmation; it’s addicting, exciting and just overall a ton of fun to be apart of. With the numbers of exclusives that are available at the parks, it’s near impossible to get everything you want without trading with others online, or going the dreaded eBay route. With Disney seemingly releasing a new set almost every week, it’s tough to keep up with all the new releases, especially if you are one who must collect them all.

Of course we all wish we could walk into D-Street on release days and come out with the vinyls we crave to have, but for the majority of us, that’s not an option.  Luckily these online communities have become a great place to acquire your most wanted vinyls (still on the hunt for a damn supermouse), make lifelong friends, and play the vinyl game.

When I first started trading online in the many Facebook groups, one member, I forget who, equated trading Vinylmation to “trading stocks, it’s quick, fiery and you usually don’t know every vinyl you have or are getting, you just trade for the fun of it.” Not sure how much sense that made, but I guess in a way it does, especially after trading for awhile. Like any kid at heart, you love getting mail all day, excited to check what vinyl you got in the mail that day, whether it’s completing that long lost set that may have taken you years to build up, or just something that you thought “hey, that’s pretty cool, I want that and you know what, I’m going to get it.”

Collecting vinyls is fun, there’s no way around it, it’s also can be very very costly, and most of us know that as well, at $12.95 a pop these days it’s not easy to complete sets. Although it seems if waiting a couple weeks, you can grab new releases for sometimes half the price on the online communities.

So before you hit up eBay for that vinyl you want most, don’t be afraid to check out the online communities for that vinyl you may be searching for. Admittedly it does take a lot of trust, especially before you build up relationships with other members, but once you find yourself a core group of people to deal with and getting yourself a nice reputation you will be well on your way to building up your collection and making some awesome new pals along the way.

Happy trading, and hope everyone has themselves a wonderful holiday weekend.
