Official Description: Like running? Love Disney?!? In this short film, runner (and Vinylmation collector) David runs the Everest Challenge 5k at Animal Kingdom with his wife Tayelor and their good friend Brian – and you’re invited to join in all the fun!

Featuring an original jungle-icious soundtrack, you’ll get an inside look at all the happenings of a RunDisney race – from the starting corral to the character meet-and-greets, to the wacky obstacles and the after-party and beyond. It’s a blast!

This weekend sees Disneyland get its own Marathon weekend, following last weeks event at Walt Disney World and that has seen the RunDisney 2014 Eachez Vinylmation released in Disneyland.  This open edition blind box features a green variant with a ratio of 3 in 10 and retails for $14.95 each.

While it looked like Disney had decided to only release a single mini medal for the year, it appears that Disneyland is getting its own mini medal featuring Tinkerbell.

Our friends @Dizthrubrowneyes posted a photograph of the Tinkerbell mini medal which retails for $1.95 which can happily sit around the new 2014 Vinylmations neck.

The Official Disney Park Blog today posted a story about some new RunDisney merchandise that is out this week including details on the new 2014 Marathon Vinylmations which are part of the new Eachez Line (which means they are a blind box with a variant.

The 2014 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend returns to Florida from January 8-12, 2014. Before the holidays, I caught up with Mary Myers, merchandiser for events at Disney Theme Park Merchandise. She shared with me a look at many new items created to commemorate this annual runDisney event. I selected a few items to share with you today.

Apparel is some of the most popular items created for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. This year, Mary introduced a tonal color palette for the various events held during the weekend. There will be new “I Did It” shirts complete with course maps printed on the backside. There will also be new 2014 “Coast to Coast Challenge” shirts available for sale. A variety of Sweaty Bands and Bondi Bands with event logos will also return.

I’m excited about the new Dooney & Bourke handbags created especially for this event. The vibrant, runDisney-inspired artwork features Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy running through a magical course.

NMM117733-613x623There will also be a new Vinylmation “Eachz” figure released that resembles Mickey Mouse in running attire. You may recall that we introduced the “Eachz” concept last fall at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. There are two figures presented in a mystery box. Mickey dressed in yellow is the more common figure to find, while Mickey dressed in green is more rare.

To round out this assortment preview, look for additional long-sleeved options and fun drinkware. I like the mug that has Mickey, Donald and Goofy along with the 2014 Marathon Weekend logo.

These items will be released at Disney’s Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Expo will be open during the following times:

  • Wednesday, January 8, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, January 9, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, January 10, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 11, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

We found out about the new RunDisney 2014 Vinylmation being released at Walt Disney World on January 8th last week, but today Disney confirmed the Disneyland release of the figure which is going to be the week later on January 16th and will be priced at $14.94, it is a open edition figure however is sold in a blind box with a green variant which has a 1 in 10 ratio.

It’s not yet clear if there will be any major difference in figure and simply could be a variation of the box with Disneyland on it.
We also don’t know if the mini medals will be returning in 2014.

Disney has revealed some 360 photos for the new Walt Disney World Marathon 2014 Mickey Mouse which will continue the recent trend of have single figures in blind boxes with variants.

What do you think about these new Marathon figures?

The Official Vinylmation blog posted a story today confirming a new Mini Medal for the RunDisney figure for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon which takes place this weekend.

Mary told me there will also be a few Disney pins to commemorate the event along with a mini-medal for the runDisney Vinylmation figure. Other non-apparel items include a wine glass, car magnets, a window decal and two Sweaty Bands.

This mini medal can be placed on this figure which has been available throughout the year.

rundisneymickeyHere is some information on the event:

The runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend returns to Walt Disney World Resort on November 8-9, 2013. I will be attending the half marathon on Saturday evening to cheer on my fiancée as she crosses the finish line. She recently asked me what new merchandise was created for the event, so I contacted Mary Myers, merchandiser for runDisney events, to get a first look.

The assortment for this year’s half marathon will include a mixture of apparel, pins, home goods and more. Many of these items include artwork created by Disney Design Group artist Paola Gutierrez. She told me the artwork was inspired by the main merchandise artwork from the 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

“Randy Noble’s artwork from this year’s festival was my inspiration,” explained Paola. “I liked the whimsical, hand-drawn style found in that artwork which I incorporated into the half marathon art. I purposely designed the logo to resemble a bottle label. The colors that Mary selected for the shirts this year were a happy accident. She selected a nice, wine-inspired color pallet which complemented the logo artwork very well.”

For the “I Did It” T-shirt, Paola added a bit more excitement to the design (I’m sure I’d feel beyond excited to crossing the finish line if I was running). The back of that T-shirt contains a stylized course map (shown in the first image above).

In addition to T-shirts, participants will also find some long-sleeved options and a cool, navy colored polo shirt.

Mary told me there will also be a few Disney pins to commemorate the event along with a mini-medal for the runDisney Vinylmation figure. Other non-apparel items include a wine glass, car magnets, a window decal and two Sweaty Bands.

Look for these items at Disney’s Health & Fitness Expo that will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. On Friday, November 8, the Expo will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Expo will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9.

Finally, I hope to see you at the event. If you are active on social networks, please use the hashtag #WineDineHalf.
