With the Disney Infinity Phineas and Agent P Toy Box Pack being released retail wide here in the US on April 1st, we thought that we would rerun our first look of them back during Toy Fair. Enjoy! ~ Travis
At the Disney Consumer Products Event yesterday during Toy Fair, Disney Infinity had a preview event for their upcoming figures, Agent P and Phineas, from the Phineas and Ferb TV Series. In addition to these figures being widely popular with children, they are also coveted by adults, as they are the last in the 29 regular release (base) characters for Disney Infinity. With them, something special is unlocked, which will be talked about later. At the end of the event, each guest was presented a gift bag, in which was our own set of Agent P and Phineas characters in their Toy Box Pack. This pack also includes the Danville Customization Discs, which one can use to turn their Toy Box’s Skydome and Texture to that to Danville, the hometown of Phineas.
It was a good thing that I brought with me to the hotel my X-Box 360, as I spent last night exploring everything that this Toy Box Pack offers.
***SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW DETAILS ABOUT AGENT P AND PHINEAS, PLEASE STOP HERE.***
OK, I am assuming if you are still here, you want to know more. Let’s start.
Danville Customization Discs
I’d say if you are a fan of the TV Series, you are going to really enjoy this disc set. Some of the tree pieces turn into objects for the imagination, such as a climbable stack of wood that could be turned in a tower or a fort. The skyline of Danville is nice in the background. I am especially intrigued by the design of the track (road) pieces. With it’s red and white border pattern, I feel that it is a nice racetrack option.
NOTE: It has been confirmed at the preview event that these two discs WILL be part of the Series 3 Power Discs, bringing the set total to 17.
Special Powers/ Tools
Agent P- Agent P’s Special Power is the Platypus Pummel, which resembles little platypus karate moves. For his tool, our favorite platypus uses his hat a a projectile, which, like a boomerang, comes back to him.
Phineas- Phineas’ Special power is Tuck ‘n’ Roll… he tucks, and rolls. For his Tool, in true inventor fashion, Phineas as fashioned himself a Baseball Shooter.
NOTE: In the photos, Phineas is showcasing Agent P’s unlockables, and vice versa. This was done intentionally to show that, once unlocked in the Toy Box, they can be used by any character.
Agent P Costume- Townsperson of Agent P himself.
Dr. Doofenshmirtz Costume- Townsperson of the villain of the series, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
Norm Costume- Townsperson of the Dr.’s assistant, an over-sized humanoid robot named Norm.
Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated- A Toy Box building of Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s headquarters.
Phineas Costume- Townsperson of Phineas.
Ferb Costume- Townsperson of Ferb.
Candice Costume- Townsperson of Candice, Phineas’ sister and Ferb’s step-sister.
Phineas and Ferb’s Water Slide- An interactive set piece where you can actually slide down a water slide and go exploring.
Baseball Shooter- Unlock Phineas’ Tool so anyone can equip it thru the Tool application in the Toy Box.
NOTE: No images here, as I think you will enjoy it more seeing it yourself. that and the pictures did not do either of the adventures justice.
Agent P & The Infinity-inator
Buckle up for not one, but FIVE, mini adventures in this one large adventure. Travel to worlds (levels) trying to defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his Infinity-inator weapon and break the yellow breakables. From aerial view to side scrolling, this one has it all. I am not going to give too much away here, but if you are playing and feel like you are having a 8-bit flashback… go with it. Definite homage is paid here.
Phineas- Phineas’ Pinball Mania
Use your imagination and inventor skills to construct a pinball machine to destroy bots on the course. The longer you prevent them from getting safely through the course, the better your star will be at the end.
Both of these games were awesome and challenging. Great job DI team.
As reported late last week, is has been confirmed that the Ultimate Pack is, in fact, the Star Wars Lightsaber. Once you get at least a bronze statue (Level 1) in the Hall of Heroes for EACH of the 29 characters (Crystal Series not included), it will appear in the center lit area of the Hall. The lightsaber is then available in the Packs option in the Toy Box. The lightsaber is a “one shot kill”, meaning that it will destroy any enemy with only one swipe combo. Pretty sweet.
Well, that’s all for this preview, but I am sure that is enough, right?
Be on the lookout for the Phineas and Agent P Toy Box Pack, available April 1st here in the United States retail wide. Gamestop will be getting the Toy Box pack in early for a Timed Exclusive, set to release on March 14th.
Thank again to the team at Disney Infinity for including the preview in the Toy Fair Disney Event this year, and for another pair of fun Toy Box characters.
