BcdRt3yCQAEROEl

BcdRt3yCQAEROElWe have heard from a few different sources that Disney Stores in Japan have stopped selling Vinylmations and even the selection at Tokyo Disneyland has reduced the amount of Vinylmations it is selling and has removed trade boxes.

Our Japanese friend @Takuya_Vinyl confirmed that they are no longer in Disney Stores, mainly due to poor sales.   They will apparently will continue to be sold in Tokyo Disneyland, however they do have much fewer releases than in the USA and the majority of new releases are Japanese exclusives such as the recent Christmas, Halloween or Doll Festival figures.

VK reader @LMVinylmation was in Tokyo over the holiday season and also confirmed that she was unable to find any trade boxes in Tokyo Disneyland and found no Vinyls in the Disney store she visited.  @LMVinylmation continued to say that she saw no blind boxes in Disneyland, just the event merchandise Vinylmation which were located in with all the other merchandise from that collection such as stationary, however she added they the displays looked great together.

1551536_10153660157825542_2008909359_nTo go along with this, Disneystore.co.jp has been slowly getting less and less selection, with the exception of the D23 Expo blind box series, the last series it sold online was the Little Mermaid.  Both of which were released in August 2013.  This is pushing Japanese Vinylmation collectors to use Disneystore.com to get the latest Vinylmation releases.

Disney parks outside of the United States have always had much less Vinylmation available and its not uncommon to have older series still available, however in contrast to this, Disneyland Paris has recently been getting more newer Vinylmations in stock than previously.

If you are in Japan and able to provide us with more information, we would love to hear from you.

What do you think about this recent development?

thank you

thank youToday we have found out about a new Vinylmation which is believed to have been given to cast members in Japan as a thank you.  The Vinylmation has the number 2013 across its ears and the word “Thank You” in lots of different languages.

This photograph was shared by Instagram member 2004177, who confirmed that this Vinylmation was a gift for Cast Members who worked during 2013.   We don’t know much about this Vinylmation at the moment or if it is just for Japanese Disney Store Cast Members.

Earlier gifts to cast members in the US & Europe included the Sorcerer Mickey Light Up from the 25th Anniversary.  But there have been some other Cast Member Vinylmations available in the past which have eventually turned up on ebay, but if this is just for Japanese Cast Members, it might be much harder to get hold of.

What do you think about this Vinylmation?

2014 japan

This week saw the release of some new 2014 Vinylmations in Tokyo Disneyland, there is Horace Horace 3″ figure which is representing the year of the Horse and a new 3″ version of a Daruma for 2014 along with some new Daruma Junior figures.  Below are some photos shared by our friend @Vinylmati0n of the new figures on display in Tokyo Disneyland.

Back at the D23 Expo in Japan, a new blind box series called “Happiness is a state of mind” for the event went on sale and quickly sold out, but now the series has appeared on the Japanese Disney Store website, priced at 1280 Yen each.  This series features 7 commons and 1 chaser (Oswald) and there is also a Tinkerbell Variant.  We don’t really know if this is just a case of clearing out the stock from the show or that it is generally going to be available for a while in Japan.  But its certainly a interesting development on this popular series as these might become much easier to get hold of?

Its worth noting that Disneystore.co.jp doesn’t ship to international addresses including the United States.

What do you think about the D23 Expo Japan figures being more commonly available?

While over in the US saw some new Holiday Vinylmations released today, over in Japan some new Holiday related Vinylmations have gone on sale.  There is a Santa Mickey and Minnie Open Window 3″ and also some new Christmas Juniors as well.  Our friends over Japan @Vinylmati0n posted some images from Tokyo Disneyland’s Pirate Treasure store of the new items on display.

While we love seeing photographs from any Disney store/park in the United States (And feel free to send them into us or Tweet/Facebook them to us) but its even more fun to see what’s in stores around the globe.

Recently our Japanese friend @Takuya_Vinyl posted some pictures of the Vinylmations on the shelf at the Kitasenju store in Japan.  From this pictures we can see they have a wide selection of different series including their own exclusives such as the 110th Anniversary and Romantic Treats.

And while Adam from the @DisneyBrit podcast was in the Oxford Street store in London, England, he posted this photograph of the selection available.

Huge thanks to @Takuya_Vinyl and  for the pictures.
