Today sees the release of the Crystal Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey for Disney Infinity across the U.S. This figure is the last of the crystal figures and also the last figure to be released for Disney Infinity and it also works with Disney Infinity 2.0.

Unlike previous crystal figures, this figure isn’t an Toys R Us exclusive and is available at most retailers.

Will you be adding this figure to your collection?

In the last Disney Infinity figure release of 2014, Crystal Sorcerer Apprentice Mickey is a strange release that brings the last of the original 1.0 characters onto the 2.0 platform. Disney have decided that the Crystal variants aren’t returning to Disney Infinity 2.0, originally this figure was supposed to be released before 2.0 was launched, Sorcerer Mickey was delayed and the decision was made to release it for 2.0. However Crystal Sorcerer Mickey does work on the original video game as well, so if you haven’t upgraded to 2.0 yet, this will be the last figure for 1.0.

This figure is due to be released on 5th December in the United States and has been released in some European countries already. And this figure has also been given away as gifts to people attending the Toy Box Summit and D23 Rewind event in Walt Disney World.   In the US, this figure has been given some new 2.0 themed packaging whereas in Europe, the packaging is slightly different.

Overall Crystal Sorcerer Mickey is a nice additional figure to add to your Disney Infinity collection, but isn’t an essential purchase as the crystal version isn’t too much different from the original figure, which I prefer. Its a shame they didn’t add any additional abilities to the Sorcerer Mickey, especially with being released during the 2.0 life cycle. Not having a special move like the new 2.0 is slightly frustrating since this figure, feels like it should have been upgraded having a similar move set to one of the new 2.0 figures. So comparing this figure to any character from 2.0, means it comes up short, however as a 1.0 character, Mickey is still a lot of fun. While the Crystal version of Sorcerer Mickey isn’t for everyone, he is a interesting figure to add to your collection.

What do you think?

crystal agent p

crystal agent pWe have heard rumours of a Agent P Crystal figure for Disney Infinity for a while but now we have confirmation via Australian retailer JB Hi Fi, where it will be available as an exclusive . While no Australian release date is listed, we have a picture of the figure with its artwork (which can be found here)

We don’t have a US or European release date either, but expect it to be available after the Phineas & Ferb Toy Box pack and Single Figures are released which is set to be in April 2014.

What do you think of the Crystal Agent P?

We have known about Crystal versions of some figures for a while.

EB Games in Australia have put up preorder page for Captain Jack, Mr Incredible and Sulley.

These are set to be released in Australia on October 31st. This is a good sign for other countries as these figures have been repackaged without the TRU logo.

Sulley & Mr Incredible are set to be released in the US on Friday but we have no date for Captain Jack yet.

crystalmickeyToday I was given a tip off from a UK collector Tim White that the Crystal Infinite figures will be released in France on November 28th, according to the French retailer Micromania who have pre-order pages for the following figures:

  • Mr Incredible (Mr Indestructible)
  • Lightening McQueen (Flash McQueen)
  • Jack Sparrow
  • Lone Ranger
  • Buzz Lightyear (Buzz L’eclair)
  • Sulley (Sulli)

Each figure is priced at €14.99 and is the first confirmation of a Crystal Infinite release in Europe, so hopefully they will be following throughout Europe shortly after.  Other wave 2 figures are also available to pre-order including Sorcerer Mickey, Frozen and Wreck it Ralph.
