With the next big Disney Infinity event coming up in less then a week, I would like to give everyone a chance to revisit the first Disney Infinity 2.0 event that revealed Marvel Super Heroes. Three weeks ago I was given the chance to attend the event as a guest. It was a lot of fun and excitement just to be in the presence of so many fans and media. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the event through my eyes and the lens of my camera…………….
It was a thrilling day at the Disney Infinity 2.0 presentation in Hollywood. My feeling going in to the event was not only excitement, but it was also full of optimism and joy that Disney Infinity would only be getting better. All I had leading up to the event was a trailer that hinted Captain America and the Rescuers water vehicle. Although I knew it would be Marvel in some shape or form, I didn’t exactly know what to expect.
We started our day at the Palladium, a block and a half away from the actual presentation. We were received with valet service for our cars, a nice continental breakfast, and many friendly Disney event staff that made my experience enjoyable.
While inside, I enjoyed many great conversations with several fans just throwing out theory after theory of what could be announced. My favorite rumor was possibly seeing Darkwing Duck join the line up, although highly unlikely. Once we had about 10 minutes until show time, we all took a 1 1/2 block walk down to the Pacific Cinerama “Dome” Theater where the presentation would be held. It was all decked out with Disney infinity logos.
Once inside we were greated by many of the concession stand and theater employees. They had complementary popcorn and soda for everyone. We grabbed our treats and headed upstairs to our seats. Once seated, you could see the entire front half of the theater was filled with Media representatives of all sorts.
Since there was plenty of media personnel, all guests had to sit in the balcony seating area. Due to this distance, these were the best pictures I could get. Since many of you saw the presentation online or have been reading about it, I will spare the long narration and have you take a look at all these pictures. Enjoy!
Overall, my final thoughts about the event were a bit overwhelming. Although I didn’t get more news regarding what playsets were coming or what Disney features we will be getting in this new rendition of the game, they did give us so much more we weren’t expecting. Like the new talent trees, the auto playset builders that will help the little guys build a toy box, the structured play, the new dungeon style challenges, the new power disc features, and so on. It was definitely a lot of great stuff. Plus, the trailer hinted great things to come, like a possible spider man figure/playset, plus Groot and Rocket Racoon figures/playset. And of course, there were some hidden Disney characters too (Stitch, Merida, and Maleficent). It was a fun day and I enjoyed being there for this group.
Next up is the D23 event in San Francisco for the screening of Maleficent and the reveal of our next two DI figures. Although I am uncertain whether I can attend this event, be sure that I will be bringing you a wealth of information come June at E3. See you all then!
