What Would You Do with $100? – LibraryGeek

Every week we ask one of our Vinylmation Kingdom members what would they do if they got a extra $100, either from a Lottery Win, Birthday present, a work bonus or Tax Refund.

This week, we asked LibraryGeek what how they would spend a $100 (not including the boring stuff like shipping & tax).

Would it be on a very high priced vinyl? A load of traders/Outlet vinyls? A full set? A big DS.com order? There are lots of options.

Can you give a brief description for yourself – ie location, how you collect, etc

My name is Becky, I’m librarygeek on the forums, and I’m from Pennsylvania. I tend to collect just the vinylmations that I like. I mostly just collect vinyls that are Disney characters and ones that have to do with the parks. I have my collection grouped in chronological order of when the movies were released. Then I have 4 sections for the 4 parks, and an area for “miscellaneous” vinyls.

So if you won a $100 extra, what would you buy?

I would have to go for the two pack of Carl and Ellie. I think they are going for close to $100 on ebay, so that would take up most of my money. If I was able to snag a good deal and got them for, say, $70, then I would probably use the rest of the money to get a 9″ Merlin.

Why did you pick those items?

As I mentioned before, I like to collect the characters of vinylmations. I love Pixar and Up is one of my favorite movies, so it would be awesome to have them in my collection. As for Merlin, I’ve really been into all versions of Arthurian legend lately. My cat is named Merlin, so that’s one reason why I would like to have a Merlin around. I’m also working on a children’s novel that centers around Arthurian legend and I think a 9″ Merlin sitting on my desk could be a good inspiration

Why haven’t you brought them before?

When the Up pack came out I was away without any way to access the internet. I didn’t want to make my husband, who had to get up for work, stay up until 3 am. I had a few people say they would try to get me a pack but unfortunately they all fell through. When Merlin was out I didn’t buy him because I don’t collect 9″. They are usually too expensive and we have a tiny apartment, so I don’t have a lot of room to store them. However, I decided Merlin was awesome enough that I would make room for him – but then it was too late (actually, I’ve been bidding on him recently on ebay so hopefully something work outs soon!)

And finally, if what would be your Plan B and why?

If both of the above mentioned vinyls weren’t available, there isn’t anything else “major” that I would want. So I would probably go back and find a few of the Villains 1 and 2 vinyls that I really like (I didn’t start collecting villains until series 3 came out). Then I would save the rest of the money for the upcoming Pixar blind box series that I’m really excited about! And maybe a few Park 7 blind boxes from the outlets – I didn’t collect them when they came out because I don’t live near the parks, and I try to stick with series that are easily accessible to me.
