1st Image of the Villains 3 Chaser Plus a Great Sale!

Last night, we reported first that the Villains 3 chaser would be Mortimer Mouse. You can read about that here. Today, I bring you the first image from our same source.

Mortimer Mouse the Villains 3 Chaser

I’m not the biggest fan of the sideways face but it works with this character. Mortimer’s long nose had to be displayed somehow. We also got a hat in the ear and a mischievous wink. I’m sold on it. What do you think about the design? To see the complete set of Villains 3, click here. So far, no word on variants. I will pass along the information when I get it.

In other news, our contact passed along a potential sale on June 18th. It appears that for every 1 Villains 3 Vinylmation you buy, you will get 1 Robots 2 Vinyl free. I’m certain that inventory levels of Robots 2 will differ between stores so you might want to talk to your local store about this sale first. Understand that this sale just went down so it might be a few days before all cast members know about it.

Looks almost like I pictured it, I didn’t expect it to be like the Foulfellow one as how the nose is kinda split and so far that’s the only thing I don’t care much about it. Otherwise the hat in one ear and the sly wink are swell and worth something to me.

  2. Ha cha cha.

    It works. I like it.

don’t like it…the sideways face is just weird. should have put him in the regular set and made chernabog the chaser…..anyone have ideas on variants?

    Great chaser choice.

On the sale, I worry that they made a lot more Villains 3 than other disney store exclusives. On the VM page they list the series as open edition series, while the 25th anniversary as limited release. I’m a little worried that there are whole lot of villains 3 waiting in the warehouse if they are already pairing it with the robots 2 for a sale.

    • I think the listing as open edition/mystery is a mistake. Wouldn’t you agree? Open edition usually means you can see which vinyl you are getting.

No, to me window box means you can see what you are getting.
Open edition means who knows how many of these they’ve made and if/when they will produce more.

        • They’ve never used Open Edition to mean that before though. They’ve always called Blind Boxes “Limited Release” Which means You don’t know how many they made but at some point, they won’t be made anymore. For example, Holiday 3 wasn’t around that long but Star Wars (after several sell outs) is still around.

agreed. Open Edition always refers to Open Window. In the past two years i’ve never heard a Open Edition refer to a Blox Series. However, a quick note… H3 was still EVERYWHERE in WDW last time i went.

I agree, definitely could be a mistake.

Limited Release per VM.com–which I know you know. :)

“Limited Release” means that a figure or collection will only be available for a certain period of time. Once a Limited Release figure or collection is gone, they’re gone. We will “retire” (or stop producing) limited release items in order to make way for new limited release items. There is not a finite production number limited release items.

My interpretation of open edition is they make them to match demand rather than making a set number. Not sure how star wars fits in with reported quality issues holding up supply. I’m purely speculating, but I do wonder if with the success of villains 1 and 2 (and not sure if there are enough villains left to do a well done villains 4), if they are planning on a long run of this series.

The V2 series was SOOO short. I like something being around almost a year to 6 months. A1, M1, V1, TS… all there for a period that didn’t out stay it’s welcome (U5), but didn’t make you turn around and say: where did they go? When it’s beloved characters, i think the value of them staying longer is a good thing. Urban and Park (especially urban, even though i’m a huge fan) shouldn’t overproduce to outlive past the next generation (1 overlap ain’t bad since they come out and faster rates then the character series)

I like the chaser choice – Mortimer.

Still can’t stand this art style they are using for Villains, though.
You can argue that his nose is too big, so they have to do this, but now his head is completely disproportionate.
Not saying the Phineas & Ferb vinylmations are perfect, but they are an example of using weird faces on just the head piece.

This chaser kicks some tail. love it. great choice. obscure, but awesome. a villain to the classic character (the fab 4)… after several strings of “really?” chasers, this one is a win.

I hope that sale info is true! My son will be SO happy!!!
I’m not a fan of the chaser, so I’m going to pass on buying a case, seeing as I only want 6 figures!

So if you buy a V3 case do you get a Robots case??

  9. Baddog on said:

I just peronsally like any of the Villains the split the face between the head and body. Didn’t buy one of Villains 2. This is sooooo the same. I would say that the challenge should be to make it work, and this sooo doesn’t….

Just like the upcoming Seal for Circus – horrible use of the Mickey vinyl canvas…
