Now before any of you complain, let me say why I love the choice. As most of us know, Mortimer was the original name of Mickey Mouse but as the story goes, Lillian Disney didn’t like Mortimer so Walt changed it to Mickey. Mortimer has been around for a long time but is definitely a rare villain. Here’s how he has looked over the years:

Apparently he’s also appeared in an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in a non speaking role sitting under a tree with a guitar. Why do I like Mortimer so much? Well, I’ve always thought he looked like Walt Disney and I’m certain that was intentional. I also love any nod to the history of Walt Disney so this unique villain is a winner for me. I’m not expecting all to love it as much as me, but appreciate that they didn’t just go with something we all thought of.
And they’re going retro!!! Would’ve never guessed, but definitely excited to see it!!

GREAT choice. Although, I’m surprised they didn’t use him for the upcoming Classics collection. Hope I win the chance to buy him in the Group Buy!

Nice choice for the chaser! A true villain for sure. Always the nemesis, like Pete. Wonder if they will have a color version and a variant black and white version (or vice versa)?
Clever use of an obscure character, that’s always been, and continues to be from the looks of it, the biggest strengths of the Vinylmation brand.
Ugh…why can’t they just keep using the film Villains? They could’ve used Mortimer in another collection. Yes, I know Pete and The Big Bad Wolf were in the animated shorts, but they were often used and/or promoted, unlike Mortimer here who only appeared in one Mickey cartoon. I wonder why Disney didn’t keep making more Mortimer/Mickey shorts in the past?
So much for my hopes of Maleficent or the Dragon form! Shucks! Maybe in Villains 4?!
