3 Park Starz Variants and Duffy Vinylmation Revealed at What’s New? What’s Next? Media Event
After the “What’s New? What’s Next? Event today in Walt Disney World, new merchandise was shown to the media. Three Park Starz Variants were displayed and here is a picture of one courtesy of Touring Plans (an outstanding Disney website, if you ask me).
We see a Copper Penny Abraham Lincoln, A Gold Yeti, and the infamous Figment wearing his shirt. Personally, I love these variants more than their original counterparts. I’ll definitely be picking these up this summer.
In addition, the ever obnoxiously shoved down our throats Duffy has finally been shown in his vinyl form.
I sorta feel bad for disliking Duffy. He’s definitely cute but I can’t stand how Disney tried to force his popularity on the States. It didn’t work. Duffy is fine but Figment should be the official mascot of Epcot not this bear. Anyways, these vinyl molds look cute as to be expected. One sorta looks flocked but I can’t say for sure. No clue on price but I have a feeling he’ll be discounted at some point in the future.
Not sure about all the Gold variants…but I like the Figment variant…the shirt adds a nice touch.

Each of the park stars variant boxes is different, so does that mean they will be sold individually? If so that’s a little disappointing… And as for the designs, was a gold yeti the best variant they could come up with? It looks like someone took a can of spray paint to him. To be fair the others do look good. As for Duffy, I’m not a huge fan, but the one on the left looks cute enough to buy on sale
Gold Yeti is a must have, it looks like an idol that you’d find in a temple!

The tins are awesome. Duffy is not for me, but that’s ok.
These are great. Figment is by far the best. but the others are kinda cool. Duffy: yep, we finally have a vinylmation i won’t even be curious about getting. lol.
Oh, Duffy. It’s the Disney equivalent of Pedobear… or at least, that’s the vibe I get.
Is anybody wondering if Disney will do a 12 piece parallel variant set? Remember the artwork for the Purple Squid? I hope they don’t.
I like Figgy and Abe. Didn’t really get the Yeti til someone mentioned the Gold Idol. Now, the idea is just kind of hokey.
I don’t mind the concept of separate variants with a LE on them like I heard. However, my issue with Park Starz from the get go is that there is no chaser. It’s ridiculous to call it a chaser when it isn’t. I understand the case size of 12 so this is how they could do the chaser. Let’s say they chose the Dapper Dans as the chaser in Park Starz 2. Each case could have 1 of the 4 dapper dans. So this would encourage blind boxing (er blind tinning?) And let’s talk about that price point… It’s sorta high for blind boxing. So I wish they’d drop it to $16.95 but even if they do that, I think I’ll just buy a case and sell the ones I don’t want.
That being all said, I love Park Starz and I want more of em.
I totally agree with everything you said. To have a regular issue Vinylmation Starz called a chaser doesn’t make it a chaser, but with two or more different variants, it automatically becomes a chaser because not every case would have the same 12.

I like the tins and if each was different like the variant tins, then I could swallow that $18.95 price a little (not much) easier. All in all, I would rather pay $12.95 or $13.95 in cardboard boxes. I am after the Vinylmation Park Starz themselves, not necessarily the tins.

Cannot wait for Series 2 especially if it has the variety of Series 1 and it has a true chaser/variant included!

As much as i dislike Duffy…at least he looks like himself..Not a distortion like the new mold Mickeys do.
I think if Disney said they were going back to the OLD mold and dumping the NEW mold, we’d both fall over dead of heart attacks. LOL. I do agree the Duffys look more like themselves than NEW mold Mickeys ever do.
