Participate in our Vinylmation Collector Survey

If there is one thing I have learned in my time collecting vinylmations, discussing Vinylmations, and writing about Vinylmations, it’s that collectors are a diverse group. We collect different things. We collect for different reasons. We also have varying degrees of tolerance for change. With that, I decided I wanted to gather data on Vinylmation collectors. If you are willing, please answer the following questions in our comments section. As a reward, 5 of the responders will be randomly chosen to receive a Vinylmation related prize. It is a thank you for participating in the survey. The survey will close on December 31st.

1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?

2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?

3. Which series is your favorite?

4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)

5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)

6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?

7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?

8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?

9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?

10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?

    1. technically, since March of 2010… started seriously collecting in December 2010. Urbans drew my attention, then my GF (now wife) started collecting with me.
    2. 721 3″
    3. that’s a tough one. used to be Urban… but Park has started moving forward. but Urban 4 is one of my favorites of all time. this, of course, doesn’t include 1 ups (Steampark,Disney Afternoon, etc…)
4.Parks and eBay. eBay only when we can buy large bundles to trade into the boxes.
    5.VMKingdom. Destination Vinylmation. Vinylmation Connection.
6.Yes… around 89 (including ones that come in combo backs like Cruise and Sushi)
    7. 13 9″ so far
    8. No… but it’s rarity and desirability DOES affect it’s value in my collection/how i might display it.
9.Disney Classics or Disney Star Wars at current
    10. I’d take Cutesters back to being a cute urbanish series like the first two… slow down releases, and see urban go back to kind of figures we saw in 4.

    1. I have been collecting since Park 2 came out. I started on a trip to WDW bought my first 6 boxes of Park 2
    2. 335 3″ vinyls
    3. My favorite series is the Urban series.
    4. Most of mine come from ebay/facebook.
    5. Vinylmation Kingdom, Vinylnation.net, Destination Vinylmation
    6. I do not collect Jrs
    7. I do not collect 9″
    8. LE does not have any effect on if I collect it.
    9. Sorry none
    10. I know you might not want to hear it but BRING BACK THE OLD MOLD!!! I would also take prices back down to $9.95 for a blind box, every series.

  4. 1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started? Dec. 2010. Wanted to get Stitch from Park 5

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection? over 140

    3. Which series is your favorite? Villains 2

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order) At WDW, D-Street. At home, Disneystore.com or my local Disney Store.

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net) I started at Vinylnation.net and started looking around Vinylmation Kingdom.

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have? No.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have? Yes. 14

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation? No

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about? Snow White Juniors

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make? I would go back to the old molds and artist cards. Keep the new molds for guests who want to make their own custom vinyls. Also, space out release dates a bit more. I understand people buy whole cases, however it is hard to buy on a budget and then when you do save to buy, they are gone. Lastly, do a better job of stocking the Disney Stores as some series get neglected and only release about 2-3 cases per store. That’s it. Once gone, they are gone.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation? Makes me want it more!

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about? Probably Star Wars 2.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make? BRING BACK THE OLD MOLD! Work on the quality of clears and get more vinyls over to the UK!

  6. 1. Since a visit to Disney World in May 2010. Saw some VMs in the gift shop at Old Key West, bought a couple urban 5 and a couple Muppets.

    2. About 100.

    3. Alice in Wonderland.

    4. Its pretty even between DS.com, Ebay, and D-Street (shows you how bad the selection is at the Disney Store 20 minutes from my house!)

    5. Vinylmation Kingdow, vinylmation.com (just to see how long they can go without posting.)

    6. Hell’s no.

    7. No. None.

    8. Slightly to not at all.

    9. Wow, this is sad. Not really excited about anything upcoming. Brave maybe?

    10. Well I’d be in charge of Vinylmation, so that’d be a good change right? But seriously? I’d give the Cutesters series back to Maria Clapsis to restore its dignity. Seriously, Cutesters 2 had me at the Disney Store once a week. Couldn’t stop blind boxing.

    11. (The question you should’ve asked: What did you think of this survey?) Awesome. Really made me think about how my VM collecting habits have changed (or waned, more precisely.)

  7. 1. Since 2009. Started at the Park 2 Artist Party. Would have started with Park 1, but all I ever found of those was empty cases.

    2. 131

    3. Animation

    4. Walt Disney World D-Street, World of Disney, Once Upon A Toy, Pin Station, Art of Disney, Disney Store and Character Wharehouse Outlet

    5. VinylmationKingdom.com, Vinylmation.com, DestinationVinylmation.com and VinylmationConnection.com

    6. Yes, 1

    7. Yes, 4

    8. Not really, but its a nice bonus.

    9. Classic Collection

    10. Slow down on Urban releases, because it looks like they are running out of ideas. Also cut back on the amount of 9 inch and 3 inch sets released, because they don’t sell as good as they use to.

  8. (1) I only bought one or three in December 2009, but it kick started a year later with P4. Got EPCOT ’82!

    (2) 3″ and 9″ total, I have about… 120.

    (3) I absolutely LOVE the Park series the most. Amazing designs that I can relate the most to, being a major fan of the parks.

    (4) WDW mostly, but have bought from DisneyStore.com and eBay recently.

    (5) Vinylnation, VMK, Destination Vinylmation and Vinylmation World.

    (6) I do NOT collect Jrs but do have some from the Oh Mickey, Occupations and Sports series. Think my favorite Jrs I have wanted for a long time (or at least would LOVE to have) though has got to be both Plutos (Series 1 & DLP), Occupations K9 and Dalmatian and some of the animal IASW Jrs.

    (7) I have 12 9″ but have decided to stop collecting after seeing the horrendous new 9″ mold. :(

    (8) Not really honestly, except for the I LOVE NY 9″ from 2009. Otherwise, I go by the rarity/desirability of what I have mostly.

    (9) Oh boy, so many… P9, P10, Classics and Haunted Mansion.

    (10) Um… $10 for all blox series, make Urban ACTUALLY urban-ish (like U4), 9″ be UP TO $45, $50-65 for 9″/3″ combos, less overproduction & a return of desirability of series in response to plenty of series sitting on shelves (kill off Cutesters and the majority of open window boxes), return of the old 9″ mold and maaaaaaybe clarification (note: sliiight leniency) of trading at the parks & at D-Street. :)

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
Started collecting in 2009, when I blind boxed two Urban 1′s – just thinking at the time it’d be neat to have for a souvenir. I got Oopsy and Pinball. Then I didn’t even think about them again till I saw Toy Story vinyls in the DS store. Blind Boxed one, and got Rex. Then it all went downhill for there :) haha.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
Over 200 — haven’t counted lately, but it’s definitely up in the 200 range.

    3. Which series is your favorite?
I love the Urban series, you get so many different artist and interpretations.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
Either get them online or trade with others. Sometimes I get to actual Disney (Land and World)

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
    VinylmationKingdom,com
    DestinationVinylmation.com
    VinylmationTraders.com

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
I only collect select juniors, and I have about 10.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    I collect select 9″ too. I have about 10.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Used to be a HUGE thing, but now I only get those that I really want.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
I’m most excited about the Classics coming out.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
It’s been said before but I would love to go back to the old Mickey mold, mainly because I loved the button nose. Also I would do a contest allowing Disney fans to design a series. I think that’d be awesome.

    1. About a year and a half. It began when I bought the Electric Mayhem for my boyfriend as a gift, and it exploded from there.

    2. 130.

    3. Probably Villains.

    4. Ebay and Disney Store

    5. DestinationVinylmation.com VinylmationKingdom.com and Vinylnation.net

    6. Not yet, but I love the It’s a Small World series.

    7. Also not yet, but I am tempted, especially by ones based on the parks – Main Street Electrical, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Space Mountain etc.

    8. Not at all, if I really want one, I know that I’ll get it eventually.

    9. I am really hoping for a Clarabelle Cow in the Classics series, but the Haunted Mansion has got me excited for all of them.

    10. I would get rid of the umbrella brand “vinylmation” and have the word refer strictly to the mickey mouse shaped vinyl figures. I would create a more logical and set pricing structure. I would bring the focus back to more Disney things – characters, movies, locations, parks, etc.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
My fiance and I started collection around December 2009.
We went to DLR/CDA for our anniversary in October.
After riding Tower of Terror the exit leads you into the gift shop.
The first thing she spotted was the VM display case.
At the time it was Park 2 and Urban 2.
I was familiar with KidRobot and Dunnys, so I thought it was cool that Disney got into the vinyl toy game.
The U2 Confetti caught my eye so we bought a blox in hopes of getting the Confetti, instead we got Green Bear.

A couple of months pass and we’re back at DLR/CDA again for the holiday theme.
After TOT we found ourselves looking at the VM display. This time the first holiday tins just came out.
We got the Christmas around the World tin. Later that night I went online and discovered websites and forums dedicated to VM. I browsed them all and got familiar with the different series and designs.
We looked through everything making a wish list of other VMs we wanted so the next time we went back to the parks we knew which series to blox.

In January 2010 we finally got an annual pass. We decided to blox after every visit. The visits became frequent, like 1-2x a week! At that time we were officially hooked and the rest is history.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
    I don’t know the exact number but its above 180. I’m not a completest. I buy/collect what I like.

    3. Which series is your favorite?
The Park Series is my favorite because most of the designs bring back memories of visiting Disneyland as a kid.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
I do most of my buying at D-Street and DLR/CDA.

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
I started with vinylnation.net. I am still an active member there.
    I also visit destinationvinylmation.com and now vinylmationkingdom.com

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
    No I don’t. Strictly 3-inchers.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    No I don’t. Strictly 3-inchers.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Sometimes. When the edition size is low and people are literally camping out I get turned off by that release.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
    Future Star Wars releases.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
I would go back to the old mold. If the nose and buttons made it hard for the artist then just remove those, but keep the original mold form. Mickey looks fat and bloated now.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started? Started March 2010 on my birthday trip to Disneyland Paris. We had seen them the year before in WDW but did not buy any at the time, not really sure why, I guess we were intruiged but not enough to buy them then.
    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection? 300+ 3inch and 23 9inch vinyls
    3. Which series is your favorite? Park series for sure.
    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order) Disney Parks, eBay, Vinylmationkingdom.com
    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net) vinylmationkingdom.com, destinationvinylmation.com
    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have? Collect is a big word, we’ve bought a couple, 5 or so, not counting the jr’s that are included with other vinylmations. I think we have about 10 total
    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have? 23
    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation? No, design is key
    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about? For sure Park 10, Villains 3 and the Classic Collection
    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make? Maybe a nobrainer but I’d rethink the mold, not so much the 3 inch but the 9 inch seems to suffer a lot from the new mold. I’d also look into making exclusives just that, exclusives.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
Since May 2009. I had seen blank 9″ CYOs in the hotel and didn’t quite ‘get’ them. Then on the bus to DTD a collector told me all about them. I walked into World of Disney and ended up buying a full case of U1! Jumped in at the deep end as I was desperate to get an Oopsy.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
Mouse Vault tells me I have 368 3″ vinyls!

    3. Which series is your favourite?
I think it might have to be Furry Friends. I’m a sucker for fluffy animals.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
I mostly buy from fellow collectors in the US, or my local Disney Store in the UK if the series makes it over here (and doesn’t sell out in a day). Lower down the list would be DS.co.uk, then my annual DS.com (they charge way too much for shipping) order and then eBay.

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
Vinylnation.net is the main one I signed up to when I started collecting but it’s too busy to catch up every morning now. Since then I rely on Twitter for updates from VMK :)

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
I don’t really collect them as such, but I have 5 plus one custom junior.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
When I can get hold of them I do. I have 16, plus one custom.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
It’s always nice to have a vinyl which is a low LE, but if it’s too low I have zero chance of getting them. Ultimately it’s the design which decides whether I try and get them.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
I can’t wait for the Snow White Juniors!

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
I’d make them easier to collect in the UK! Demand is higher than they cater for and so series sell out very quickly. Communication about releases is non-existent. We rarely find out about a release in advance, which makes budgeting hard. Often UK collectors spend a lot of money importing from the US only to find the vinyls get released here sometimes months later (Bakery and a couple Nerds only just made an appearance).

    Disney Showcase

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
    No

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
Yes – 3 La Kidada, plus 2 London Exclusives

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Yes – if its too low, I just find it too hard to get hold of, but it is nice having vinyls that are more in demand

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
Star Wars Series 2 & Open Window

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
There is a few changes I would make:
    1) Make fewer Series – too many are watering down & I can’t have them all
    2) Make series more easily available ie. stores, parks, online (including us brits!)
    3) Make less series but more, so they don’t disapear in a week and never reappear. I don’t want to buy 11 blind boxes at once, I don’t have enough cash to do that, there is no fun.
    4) Keep Exclusives exclusive, don’t release them else where like the DLP ones (they shouldn’t be in Dstreet! nor cities online!)
    5) More special limited vinyls (maybe 2000) either single, twin or triple packs but less blind boxes series.
    6) Look after international collectors better – Ie. bring more out over here or reduce the international shipping to real costs, a single vinyl doesn’t cost $35 to ship on ebay, so I spend my money there instead.
    7) release information, Vinyls aren’t top secret, give us dates so we can plan ahead, video games, books, movies etc all say when something is coming up, why can’t Disney?
    8) bring back collector cards

    1. I’ve been collecting since August 2010. I started because I was bored and browsing through Orlando Attractions Magazines youtube videos, and I stumbled upon one about vinylmations. Thought they were cool and next thing I know I’m looking for where to buy them.
    2. In my collection I have 316 3″. Not including 6 customs.
    3. My favourite series has been really hard to pick, with my love of Lion King it would have to go to the Lion King series. Design wise I would go with Urban 4, diverse and great looking.
    4. I buy most of my vinylmations from eBay, for me it’s the easiest, sometimes cheapest plus offers a wide variety of figures up for sale. I’ve also buy from Disney store.co.uk but they don’t have much choice, and what they have I’ve already got. It’s the same with my local Disney store. When I’m on a Disney holiday, I try and pick some up then, but of course there’s a limit on what can fit in my suitcase.
    5. I do try and visit the major vinylmation websites at least once in a day. I originally started at Vinylnation.net, but I got a virus from it about a year ago, and I still can’t visit it! Now I use Destination Vinylmation for news and podcasts and Vinylmation Kingdom for articles and forums.
    6. I don’t look to collect Jrs, unless it is a design that really, really appeals to me, such as It’s a Small World Penguin. I’ve also got Tribal tatoo because it was going for very cheap on eBay, plus any Jrs that came with 3″s or 9″s. They’re a bit too small for my liking, plus I’m worried about damaging them if I actually use them as Keyrings.
    7. I do collect 9″s, but I choose a different approach than I do with 3″. They’re more pricey and take alot of display room, I therefore have to really like the 9″, instead of my usual approach with 3″ in thinking that it’s an OK figure I’ll have it. So therefore at the moment I only have 13.
    8. I think I’m more concerned about the design rather than the LE. I’m sure if I liked the design and the LE was low I would like it even more and feel an even greater need to have it, however if it was a horrible design but a very low LE I wouldn’t be interested at all.
    9. Probably Villains 3. Out of all the upcoming series that we know of now I’m the most interested in V3. I love all the Villains series so far, and I can’t wait to see what ones have been included plus hopefully the designs will be as good as before.
10.If I was in charge I’d keep the prices consistent, preferably a lower price. I would lower prices on 9″/3″ combos or have a low LE for them, as they are the figures that clutter up shelves and don’t sell so well. I’d also create a UK exclusive series  , or at least make sure upcoming releases are also sold in the UK. Plus I would bring trading to the UK. I’d also consider changing the new mold 9″‘s back to the old mold, as there was no need to change them in the first place.

  16. 1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
Thought they were cool when they first showed up in parks, wasn’t really till I saw Mike Mouse that I started…

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
    A little over 50

    3. Which series is your favorite?
    The early parks series/Toy Story.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
    D-Street DL or eBay

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
This one – Vinylnation was good for awhile, but it went strange… its better now, but this one is still my favorite.

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
A few – though GF is close to having all of the Good Luck/Bad Luck Series.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
Initially no, but I now have 3.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Doesn’t make me want them any less – but I just have to come to terms with not getting them…

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
    Haunted Mansion?

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
First off, if not bringing back the old mold, make at least mandatory that all “mickey” ones use it. He just looks better on it. Second – it was great back in the day that there weren’t “9″ releases a month… now it’s way to over saturated with new stuff – I’ve actually stopped collecting cause I cannot keep up and looking to liquidate about half of what I have…

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started? I started collecting in the Summer of ’10. Saw them around Walt Disney World the whole week, not sure if I wanted to buy one or not. I ended up buying a Park 3 blind box on the last day of our trip and I have been collecting them ever since.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection? About 100 3″ and 20 9″ give or take a few.

    3. Which series is your favorite? Park, Star Wars, Pirates

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
    Walt Disney World
    Disneystore.com

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
    Vinylmation Kingdom
    Vinylmation Connection
    Destination Vinylmation

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
    No

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    Yes, 20 or so.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
It makes me more likely to buy them upon release. If there is a high LE number I may wait for a sale.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
Star Wars 2, Disney Character Star Wars, Haunted Mansion, any future park series.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
Hmmm…I would stick to release dates. I would make items more limited, but more widely available. So lower LE numbers and sell them online from day 1 (I live far away from both parks). I’d focus vinylmation to strictly Disney and Parks themes. So no more cutesters or urban. OH I would make exclusives just that, exclusive.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
    - I’ve been collecting since November of 2009. I got started when my family and I took a trip to WDW after my redeployment from a year in southern Afghanistan. I picked up my first blox, a Park 2 Panda, in one of the post-ride stores because I liked the idea of a different Mickey collectible, the curiosity, and thrill, of the blind box, and because it was just cool looking. It has since snowballed from there. :)

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
    - I have a total of 198 currently in my collection with another 11 on the way.

    3. Which series is your favorite?
    - I don’t have a personal favorite series, I collect what I like from specific series and don’t care about getting complete series. My wife, on the other hand, loves the NBC series and we’re just a Corpse Kid short of having the entire set.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from?
    - Online from DS.com

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly?
    - I started at Vinylnation.net, moved onto Destinationvinylmation.com, and have settled in here. Now VK.com is where I go for my vinyl fix, besides the main Disney website.

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
    - Not intentionally. I only have 3 that were purchased by themselves, but I have a total of 14 juniors.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    - Yes, but they have to be a really worthwhile design in my opinion, or be a design that is significant to me. I currently have 8 9″ ones, of which 3 are CYOs.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
    - Not at all because I collect what I like, the heck with numbers.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
    - The next Star Wars series and the proposed DLP-related Park series 10.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
    - I would bring back the old mold, but limit it strictly to the Park series, or any design that features Mickey or Minnie.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
-I’ve been collecting on and off for about 2 years. I saw Park 2 at a store in WDW and really liked the idea of blind-boxing so I bought one. Since then I’d buy occasionally until about a year ago I started actively collecting. It’s hard because I’m a college student with limited funds. =P
    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
-Right now I have a little over 80.
    3. Which series is your favorite?
-So far, my favorites are Park 7 and Lion King.
    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
    -Disney Store, ds.com, D-Street, eBay

-Vinylmation Kingdom, Vinylnation, vinylmation.com, Destination Vinylmation, Vinylmation Traders
    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
-Not really, but I have a couple. Snow White might change my mind though =P
    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
-Yes but very selectively. I have 3.
    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
-No I’ll only buy what I think looks good. Even if there are only 100 made of a vinylmation but it looks like the chaser for urban 9 then no thanks! =P
    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
-Holding on to faith for that Disney Store 25th Anniversary series (call me crazy).
    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
-With limited edition vinylmations and sets, I’d distribute them between both WDW and DLP instead of just WDW or just DLP so it’s a little more fair
-If a series is due to be released, I’d release it on an ‘all or nothing’ basis meaning if I push it back for the US, I push it back for the whole world =P
-I would maintain series prices at 9.95 and 9in at 44.95 and lower 9in/3in combos to 59.95ish
-Bring back old mold but also keep new mold. Kind of see what art works on which mold better

    - Star Wars 2

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?

-Phineas & Ferb! And the 25th anniversary, if that one ever makes it out.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
    Twenty-one and counting :)
    3. Which series is your favorite?
Furry Friends. I just wish that it was executed with better quality!
    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
Mostly eBay because I live away from the Parks. Second to that, Disney Stores, and then finally Disneyland.
    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
    Vinylmation Kingdom and Vinylmation.net.
    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
No, I do not currently, but I love the new Snow White series!
    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
No. Honestly I have no clue where I could put them in my small apartment.
    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
I am more likely to purchase either quickly or… if the price point is too high, not at all (most often the case).
    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
Disney Store 25th… if that ever happens. Also Snow White Jrs and Classics
    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
I would put some of the new series on the Disney website faster. I think in the current system of releasing many sets in the parks for the first few months before putting them online promotes a lot of eBay reselling and ridiculous inflation. Instead DIsney could put them online and out of state buyers will therefore have equal access as those who live near the parks, thereby eliminating eBay inflation. However, I would not apply that to the City Exclusives, which I believe should not be sold outside of their designated location.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?

I have been collecting Vinylmation since around July 2009. It all started on a trip to Disneyland with my friends. The Park #2 series was out and I thought they would make for a neat souvenir, so I made sure I picked one up every couple of months when I would make it back to the Parks. Limiting myself to one didn’t last too long…

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?

    449

    3. Which series is your favorite?

To date, I believe my favorite series is Park 5.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)

    1. Disney Store 2. Online forums 3. Disneyland

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)

    vinylmationkingdom.com, destinationvinylmation.com, vinylnation.net

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?

No, not really. The only Juniors I have came bundled with 9″ Vinylmation I was interested in.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?

Yes, but I have to be far more selective seeing as how they eat up a lot more space. Currently, I have only 10.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?

Yes, it does. The main reason I collect a piece is because I enjoy the way it looks, but I can’t deny that an added bonus is watching my collection appreciate in value.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?

Haunted Mansion! It’ll come out one of these days…

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?

I know it sounds like a broken record, but I would bring back the old mold. Regardless of Disney’s claim to being able to apply more detail to the new design, the fact that Vinylmation was distinctly the shape of Mickey Mouse was what drew me to this in the first place.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started? I started in November 2011 with the Alice in Wonderland series and will probably soon be starting a V.A. Group to cope with my addiction :)

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection? About 100

    3. Which series is your favorite? It’s a tie between Star Wars and Alice (the excitement that rushed through me when I opened the foil and saw ghost Obi’s feet poking out is something I will never forget!).

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order) inside Disneyland (Star Trader, Emporium, Off The Page in DCA), D street, disneystore.com

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net) Vinylmation Kingdom, Destination Vinylmation

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have? Not yet… :)

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have? My first will hopefully be the Walrus from the Alice series.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation? No. I only buy what I really like, and it’s it happens to be limited, I guess that’s a bonus!

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about? Classics collection, Star Wars 2 and Disney as Star Wars.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make? To go back go the old mold. Since I’m newer to trading, I missed out on a lot of great vinyls and it’s hard for me to appreciate a lot of what is coming out because the appeal of the images overlaid on Mickey is gone. What makes so many of the vinyls cute is seeing Mickey as these characters. While I love the Alice series because of my love of the story, when I look at them I don’t see Mickey in the same way that I do when I look at R2D2.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
Better release dates, better quality control [due to sets like Furry Friends] and better selections in stores. I can’t stand going to the store and seeing only Cutesters at the Beach and then – nothing.

  43. I was asked to post mine so here it is:

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
March or April of 2009. It was the time of Urban 1′s release. My first two vinylmations were Checkered and Graffiti from Urban 1. Then a few months later I was hooked after I saw the Park 1 vinylmations at a friend’s house. She got my really started. I had to work hard to get those Park 1s.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
Off the top of my head I have over 650 3″, 50+ 9 inch vinyls, and 70+ Juniors. Oh and one light up Vinylmation. So 775 or so total.

    3. Which series is your favorite?
At the moment, Park 4, Have a Laugh and Park 7. But as a whole, I prefer Park to all. Disney Classic Collection will pass them all.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order) Mostly from the parks but DS.com almost as much

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
The first Vinylmation website I visited was Vinylnation.net. It’s still the biggest forums. It has great forums. Besides my site obviously, I think Greg at Vinylmation World and Nick and M.C. at Destination Vinylmation do a great job. As for Facebook groups, I highly recommend Vinylmation Exchange and VinylmationTraders.com.

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
Juniors are like Star Trek movies. Every other one is good. I have a complete set of Series 2 (The Disney characters), Series 4(It’s a Small World) and I’m getting a set of Series 6 (Snow White). I have random Juniors of the other series and from the combo packs.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have? Yes I do. Over 50 but many are in storage. I have to double check.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation? If I love the design, it’s very cool that the LE is low. I will not buy a vinyl I’m not interested in just because it has a low LE. I’m looking at you, Bowling Pin 9 inch.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about? Disney Classic Collection. First Eric Caszatt is one of my favorite designers. Second, I’m a huge Disney history buff. I hope this series meets my expectations.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?

Old Mold of course. I would also make lower LE 9 inches to keep the value high. I would also make more combo packs.

  44. I really love to read people’s insights. If you want to share this with people who don’t read my site as much as they do others, please do. The point of this survey isn’t to pat myself on the back or anything like that. I love many of the other news sites. The great ones work together and not feel threatened by each other. It’s silly to deny other sites exist. I talk to Greg from VW and Nick from DV all the time along with the admins at VE and VT.com!

    2. Currently have about 230. (including my hubby and kids collections)

    3. It’s so hard to pick a favorite, Star Wars is definetly near the top, but the first series I completed was Toy Story. It felt AMAZING to buy the last 9 in the case JUST to find Lotso and Evil Dr. Porkchop! Definetly a highlight in my collecting experience.

    4. I usually buy from my local Disney Store. But have purchased some on Disneystore.com and eBay, and from other collectors. I’ve only been to DLR once since I started collecting.

    5. I usually get my news from facebook, but I do love vinylmationkingdom, destinationvinylmation, vinylmationworld, and vinylmation.com

    6. I don’t really collect jrs, just a few that i really like. We have 7 in total.

    7. I started out NOT liking the size of the 9″, and would avoid them. But when they release the park 7 ELP Dragon and Train, I had to give in! The ELP is my all time favorite, so now I own 2 9″ :)

    8. I usually don’t collect the LE’s, usually because of price, but they don’t really appeal to me. So the edition # doesn’t effect me at all.

    9. I’m really excited about the 25th anniversary, Star Wars 2, & Phineas & Ferb.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
Yes and no. I only have one right now, it was a gift.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Sometimes, it still depends on whether or not I like the design.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
25th Anniversary and the Haunted Mansion series. Star Wars 2 is given ;)

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
The lack-luster designs and what gets to go into a series and what doesn’t. I’d set up some kind of communication area where collectors can voice their opinions. Like it or not, Disney is falling short these days on my expectations of what a vinyl is/should be.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make? I don’t think I would have made such a dramatic change to the mold. The buttons and nose could have stayed. Maybe the lines around Mickey’s face and pants could have been smoothed out for better paint application. Isn’t that the whole reason for the mold change, yet ironically there have been more production problems with the new mold? I’d love to see a character series much like the 25th anniversary ones, but chosen by the people.

    2. I have 146 3″ vinylmations.

    3. I love Cutesters Series 1. I also like all of the Urbans on the original mold.

    4. I shop at my local Disney Store, disneystore. com, and ebay. On ebay, I always check all of a sellers items to see if they charge ridiculously high prices for ALL of their vinylmations and I won’t buy from them. I only buy from sellers with overall reasonable prices.

    5. Vinylmation Kingdom and Destination Vinylmation

    6. Yes. I have about 20 juniors. I hang them on my bulletin board and on a wire rack. They look awesome!

    7. I only have 2 9″. They are both from the Kidada series. There are a lot of older ones that I want, but they are so hard to find! I wish I had Space Mountain!

    8. I like to have LE vinylmations if I can actually get them early. I do like the LE concept, but sometimes they are impossible to get.

    9. I absolutely CANNOT wait for Disney Star Wars!!

    10. I think all of the 3″ vinyls should be $9.95. I makes a big difference when you want to buy a lot from a $12.95 series. It’s too much. I also wish the original mold could be used at least on the series’ that really need them. For example, I haven’t seen a Mickey Mouse on the new mold YET that actually looks like Mickey Mouse! He just doesn’t look right, and his face is too wide. The new mold makes him look like Mighty Mouse. :(

Design is the most important , but it is also nice to think you have a cool and desirable collectible rather than an overproduced clearance item.
    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about? The 25th Disney store series looked cool but hard to stay interested due to delays and barrage of other new things always around the corner- so for now most exited about Lombard Street San Francisco single release.

    >1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?

We started collecting vinyls in March of 2011 – went out to Disneyland for the Spawn’s spring break and on our last day we finally realized that we’d probably want to get a couple. Bloxed Smores and Minnie’s Dress and we were hooked.

    >2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?

About 160+ – haven’t counted recently. Including a 9″, some jrs. and customs.

    >3. Which series is your favorite?

Have-A-Laughs, for some reason. The Disneyland ticket booth is also pretty fantastic.

    >4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one >place, list them in order)

Disney Store and Disneyland when we’re out there.

    >5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to >list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)

VMKingdom – obviously. Destination Vinylmation and VM World.

    >6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?

We don’t collect them, really. We’ve got 3 from the last trip out there, but the price difference between a 3″ and a Jr. makes my heart sad, and I just can’t justify the cost.

    >7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?

We’ve got the one, because the Light Meter finally went on sale and Gyophry bought it for me because I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.

    >8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a >Vinylmation?

I generally don’t even bother. I wanted the Doug set, because it was awesome, but there was no chance to get it, and I refuse to pay Ebay prices for things. It just seems wrong to pay upwards of $43.00 for something that was $24.00+/- when it came out.

    >9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the >most excited about?

I can’t wait for the 25th series! Also, I really like the picture of Donald in the Classics set, so that could be suuuuper cool. And Disney Star Wars… and regular Star Wars. Yeah, there’s a lot.

    >10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would >you make?

I’d reassess the pricing structure. If a 3″ Vinylmation costs 9.95, how does a 3″ vinyl also cost 12.95, and a jr. is 8.95. I’m no mathamagician, but I’d certainly be more likely to purchase a jr. that is 6.95 or even 7.95, and I’m positive that I’m not the only person. I’m not even going to bother with the old mold/new mold thing (although, again, maybe bring back the old mold for certain series and charge 12.95 for those guys. The OMC fanatics who don’t buy vinyls anymore because of the horrors of the new mold will start buying those, and more money would be made all around.)

Since October 2011 (7 months). My first visit to DLR, we walked into dstreet and asked what these were (vinylmations) they explained how it all worked with blind boxes and told us of the Star Wars series. My husband is a Star Wars FANATIC so we decided to buy a few bloxs. Our second box that we opened was the Ghost Obi-Wan. We were hooked.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    yes, we have 15
    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
No, it just makes us try harder to get the ones we want on the release date so we don’t have to pay the exacerbated prices thereafter.
    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
Star Wars 2, Marvel, Villains 3, additional Alice in Wonderland, Phineas and Ferb.
    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
1-I would have kept the original mold. 2-I would use/introduce different artist every six months, some designs seem lackluster and those artist seem to produce the same type of low imaginative designs. 3- No more than 2 of the same characters produce in all series combined (i.e. too many Marie’s or Cheshire’s).

    7. I have many of the early 9″ figues, once they upped the LE I only buy if I absolutely love the design or it holds some memory for me. I have Watching You, Thunder, Sulley/Boo, Carnotaurus, Mummy, etc.

    8. Yes.

    9. Haunted Mansion and any new Park series.

    10. (1) Slow down. They are making way too many series at a much too brisk pace. Collectors can only afford so much and it’s diluting the values of all vinyls IMHO. (2) LE editions on 9″ must be smaller. They stay on ds.com forever now because the high LE sizes have stifled the appeal.

Also this false ‘sell out’ supply thing they do irritates me!! Nothing worse then being told they are sold out then seeing them on disneystore.com again. Or not being told anything and them to be gone so quick we dont have a chance to get them (Villians 2 seems to feel that way to me).

  72. 1)I got started in 2009 in the store by expedition everest.
    2)I have 49 3″
    3) I really like cutesters series 1 and 2( I have the sour apple variant chaser) and at the beach and animation 2
    4) I get most of on Disney property
    5) I look at destinationvinylmation and vinylmationkingdom
    6) I do I have 8
    7) no I just don’t like them
    8) they make me want them because there is a limited amount and I have the 25th anniversary conffeti
    9) so tasty
    10) I would make them all the same price and make the series last longers

  73. 1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?

I started back in 2010. I saw a blind urban box and enjoyed the “thrill” of not knowing what I got. Been addicted ever since.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?

    I think I’m up to 125 now.

    3. Which series is your favorite?

I love the Park Series, but Urban/Holiday is right up there next to it.

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)

    #1 Ebay
    #2 Disney Parks/D-Street

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)

    Viylmation Kingdom
    Vinylmation Station
    Vinylmation World
    and
    Vinylmation Price Guide (www.conoverhardware.com/Vinyl)

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?

No, only have one after a “mis-labeled ebay bid”

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?

No, only have one… the Davey Crockett (I’m a big mountaineer fan)

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?

Certainly, rarity drives price & desirableness..

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?

    All the park series

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?

I would start by slowing down the releases… We don’t want to end up like the beanie baby phenomenon when there were too many out at one time. If they want to continue to have so many releases at least keep a few series from being “over-published”… Rarity drives collectibility…

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
I guess we cannot go back to the old mold so lets talk about the changes I wouldn’t do… I would keep One chaser par tray no matter what.. (I bought a Zodiac ETO tray in Japan and didin’t have a Chaser and was told not all trays had a Chaser and I hated that. The same thing happened to me when I bought a full tray of Holidays 2 in WDW and I didn’t get the Chaser and instead got an Easter Chick with a card -when they normally don’t come with a card-)

In fact I was collecting pins and I love talking to CMs and trading on lanyard. I live in Paris, France and 4 days every year, I try to go to Orlando to have fun in the park and trade….but at that time, on Lanyars there were only fake pins…and I was told about the Trade boxes to trade Vinylmations….since I didn’t have any…. that was fun and I bought a traded a lot…I went back home with about 120 vinylmations….that’s how I really started.

    10. This may be an unpopular answer, but ship out the cases with more mixed patterns, and not just have a few layout patterns that online folks map out. The whole fun for me is the challenge of picking the right blind boxes and trading for what I need. It sucks when I am blind choosing from boxes that have already been picked clean of the rare pieces.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
    - I’ve been collecting for about a year now. It all started when I went on a Muppet fansite, being a follower of Jim Henson’s legacy and all, and discovered that the Muppets had their own series of these Mickey figurines called “Vinylmations”, I looked into what it was and slowly but surely became more and more enthrolled in the little collectibles until I convinced myself into buying my first two figures. The rest is history.

    - As of June 2012, I believe 42 at least.

    - I have three 9″s: Bolt, Electric Light, and New York.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
    - It’s a decent draw-card for me sometimes, but I mainly go for the ones that appeal to me in terms of design.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
    - Probably the 9″ Roger Rabbit from Animation 2.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
    - I would probably bring back the old mold, or at least alternate between the old and new molds depending on what designs are to go on them and such. I’d probably also make a 3rd Muppets series and a few more Disney Afternoon sets.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
I’ve been collecting for 13 months! I started in June of 2011. I had seen and read about them and thought I would pick up just a few when I was in Disney World for my anniversary. I started with the Animation 1 series because they looked fun. I left that trip with six. Then, my Disney Store at home starting carrying them. And then I started the online hunt, and a few more visits to WDW…but I really just started with buying “just a few”…

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
Now I have collected over 150 in the past year. Whoa…

    3. Which series is your favorite?
I really like the Animation 1 series because it was my first series collecting. I like some Urbans but I am eager to expand my taste in the Parks series. I’ve been avoiding it a bit, but I’m ready to go for it!

    4. Where do you buy most of your Vinylmations from? (If more than one place, list them in order)
    Disney Store
    Disney World and Parks
    Ebay or Online

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
    Vinylmation Kingdom
    Vinylnation
    Destination Vinylmation
    Chasing Vinylmation
    Vinylmation World

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
I have only a few jrs. Some come from the celebration series. We do have three from series 2 and only recently realized that one was Dale ( a chaser). It’s interesting that those are now used for the color block designs…

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
I only get the 9″ if a) I REALLY like it OR b) they are REALLY cheap and I like it a little bit! I have nine 9″. UP is my favorite one.

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Not always. It does effect my decision as to how long I wait to take it out of the box. And yes, I take them all out of the box! As my wife says, “They weren’t made to be kept in boxes.”

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
I’m excited about the Japan Toy Story series. Does that count? I also like the Classic collection that is upcoming as well as the UP two set.

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
A return to the OLD mold immediately. I know that is like beating a dead horse, but really. They have lost their magic a bit on the new mold. It’s a little too easy for designers. There are some amazing custom artists and I have to wonder if the Disney Vinyl artists think, “We could do stuff like that, but…”
I think there needs to be more freedom to do stuff like that. Why not have a custom series and let 12 different Disney Vinyl artists just go crazy on this amazing “three dimensional canvas” the box tells us all about. Let’s see what they can do and let’s blox them. Let’s have a BLUE SKY Vinylmation series!

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
Been collecting since the beginning and started because Disney had the same concept as Kidrobot’s Dunny but mainly my enjoyment of art.

    Approximately 485

    3. Which series is your favorite?
So many but Alice In Wonderland is up there.

D-Street, Disney Stores, individual collectors, ebay.

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
    20

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    10

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Not really, it depends if I like the artwork of the piece.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
    Haunted Mansion…

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
First thing is…I would definitely go back to the original Mickey mold. I would also stop releasing many of the 9″ and Urban-type of designs not relating to Disney. Move back to the Disney movies where fans can identify with and if keeping with the urban design; I would have guest artist design them instead of only Disney Artists. =)

Oh, most importantly listen to the fans about what they like more than what Disney likes. The collectors are the ones using their hard earned money to purchase these. One request that fell on death ears other than the mold change was the artist cards. Need to bring that back.

    1. How long have you been collecting? How did you get started?
I’ve been collecting since March 2010. That was the beginning of what my wife and I call the “Modern Era” for our Disney obsession. Neither of us had been in over 10 years (and before that, nearly another 10) when we went for our anniversary in March 2010. We became obsessive seasonal passholders and have returned numerous times since then (a shocking 18 trips). On that very first trip I bought an Urban 3 blind box hoping for Wolf Boy and got Little Dragon. I kept him because we pretty much instantly knew we were going to become hardcore Disney people. We went back up the next month and I found Wolf Boy in the clear box at EPCOT’s pin station. I bought a random Urban 3 and traded for him – my first trade. Pretty much hooked since then.

    2. How many Vinylmations do you have in your collection?
I shudder to count but I’m totally going to:
    277 3 Inch figures
    10 Popcorns
    5 9 inch figures
    2 9/3 combo packs
    5 Juniors

    3. Which series is your favorite?
This varies, but currently Robots 3. I love, love, love it. Muppets 1, the Disney Store 25th Anniversary Series, and Pixar 1 are among my favorites though.

    5. Which Vinylmation websites do you visit regularly? (Feel free to list them all! I myself started out at Vinylnation.net)
    VinylmationKingdom.com
    Vinylnation.net
    destinationvinylmation

    6. Do you collect juniors? If so, how many do you have?
Not really. In fact, my 5 juniors are parts of other sets.

    7. Do you collect 9 inch Vinylmations? If so, how many do you have?
    Selectively. 7

    8. Does low LEs (limited Edition #) affect your desire to collect a Vinylmation?
Not really. I never buy anything I don’t want. It makes it extra exciting, but I don’t purchase based solely on LE.

    9. Which future Vinylmation series that you have heard of are you the most excited about?
    Muppets 3!

    10. If you were in charge of Vinylmation, what change (changes) would you make?
    FEWER RELEASES!

  96. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE VINYLMATION HAHAHAHA
