Lion King is on DisneyStore.com! UPDATE: Rafiki/Baby Simba is “Sold Out” online.

As of 12:35 AM PST/3:35 AM EST the Lion King Vinylmation series is online! Compared to Genie’s late release these guys are right on time! Unfortunately the print run is smaller for the 9″/Jr. combo and is divided up between various physical Disney Store locations and online  store. Due to the standard 1,000 LE and 1,500 LE print runs this may be the most elusive limited edition set for this year. Here are the following locations that will have the 9″/Jr. Rafiki/Baby Simba combo available for sale as listed by the official Vinylmation blog:

United States

  • Chandler Fashion Center – Chandler, AZ
  • Mission Viejo, CA
  • Montebello, CA
  • Fashion Valley – San Diego, CA
  • Santa Monica, CA
  • Stockston Street – San Francisco, CA (sold out due to advance release on 08/27/11)
  • Westfield at Culver City, CA
  • International Plaza – Tampa, FL
  • Perimeter – Atlanta, GA
  • North Michigan Avenue – Chicago, IL
  • State Street – Chicago, IL
  • Roosevelt Field – Garden City, NJ
  • Freehold Raceway – Freehold, NJ
  • Times Square – New York City, NY
  • Palisades – West Nyack, NY
  • Cherry Hill, PA
  • Northpark – Dallas, TX
  • Northstar – San Antonio, TX
  • Bellevue Square – Bellevue, WA

Canada

  • Metropolis at Metrotown – Vancouver, BC
  • Square One – Mississauga, ON

EDIT: As of 12:40 AM PST it appears that 9″/Jr. Rafiki/Baby Simba combo could not be added to the shopping cart. At 12:55 AM PST I was able to add the item to my cart. Around 1:00 AM PST the item was once again “could not be purchased at this time”. At this rate your best bet is to hit your local Disney Store that is carrying this one because he’ll be gone this week!

For individual blind boxes click here!

Lastly, for a complete case click here!

There are limits with all orders – two of each item per order. Remember you can get free shipping with any order over $75 by using the code SHIPTODAY and get 15% off your purchase with EXPO2011. For all your other Vinylmation shopping needs try PARK25 for 25% off your purchase and this promotion lasts till Wednesday (it does not work on any of the Lion King Vinylmation so your best bet is to use EXPO2011 for those).

It also seemed DisneyStore.com was a bit trigger happy releasing the series online as there were a few mistakes listed on the item’s information pages.

The page listed for buying individual boxes describes buying a complete case/tray of 24.

I thought Ed was the chaser? Poor Banzai – no wonder you were confused with him at the factory!

DO NOT go to the Stockton St. store in SF. They only received 10 and sold them all on Sat., ahead of schedule :/

  2. i was also at the misison viejo store.

i was the next person after the group of 5. :( it sucked.

one of the girls even got excited that they got all 10 vinylmation so that no one else could have any.

i will never go to the mission viejo store again. when i went to buy some blindboxes, i asked one of the ladies if she knew that the other disney stores sold out of rafiki. she just kept repeating. sorry rafiki has been all sold out, like a robot.

i had a feeling that she was going to buy them all. why else would she bring 4 girls that did not even seem that interested in the vinylmation in the first place?

My local store only had ten too…there were two left 1/2 after the store open. I like the thought that Baltar mentioned…they should limited it 1 per credit card, but it should be at least for the 1st week. I am also sorry that R2-MK couldn’t get it for his son.

The Disney store at Chandler fashion center came out and gave us tickets for what we were gonna buy. Luckily there were no eBay scum!

I want to be able to buy more than 2 blind boxes at a time from DS.com. I guess I’ll save my money.

Cherry Hill is in NJ, NOT PA. It’s a Philadelphia suburb though, I live there.
