9 inch Rafiki with Jr. Baby Simba Arriving August 29th and more! (Updated with Pics)
We have a few updates to the release calendar today but the biggest news is the confirmation that there will be at least one 9 inch Lion King combo set. Since release dates are different at parks and Disney Stores, I’m going to break it down by locale below. The highlights are that Vinylmation Jr. (Small World) will be released at the Florida Project and September 16th at D-Street locations. The 9 inch Rafiki/Baby Simba combo will cost $59.95 and be released at Disneystore.com and at specific Disney Store locations I have listed down below. There is also a “Halloween 2011″ figure designed by Eric Caszatt that will be released on September 9th around the Disneyland and WDW parks for $14.95. wrong astrology was planned to be 9.95 and it was even displayed to be 9.95 at the expo. Disney with their price changes wtf?
I’m not saying the Vinylmation news release wasn’t a mistake but they listed Astrology at $12.95 today.
Okay…I am going to ask a silly question: what is the “The Lion King – Limited Release Mystery Series”? I know it says Mystery Series, but can I had an idea or price with it…anyone??
The Mystery series is the 3 inch series with 11 figures and the chaser.

Wow they were shown as 9.95 at the expo, and now this price change. Ridiculous. Last minute. Seems like Disney after all if that is true cant hold to finalized prices.

YIPPPEEEEE, the Halloween 2011 vinyl is the OLD MOLD!!!! I can’t wait for it to come out. I know someone going to WDW in November. I hope they are still around. I also noticed the Rafiki was also old mold too.

You better take that Halloween Masterpiece with you on your cruise and put it in your pocket so everytime you pass by the DCL store, you don’t have to look at all of those NEW mold DCL creatures they showed at the Expo. LOL
i hear you!!! thats going to kill me seeing those new mold DCL vinyls sitting on the shelves on our cruise…we sooo would have bought every one had they been on the original mold!!
Am I the only one that isn’t thrilled about this 9/3 combo? I mean I knew that it was coming with this set. But to me, Rafiki just looks weird.. And we already have Rafiki and Simba in the 3″ set. They should have made an Elephant Graveyard or Circle of Life 9″ instead in my opinion.
Personally, I like the Rafiki. He is eccentric and those eyes are crazy looking. Baby Simba should have been a 3″ though.
